Characteristics:
ER1100 (commonly referred to as Al 99.5) is a 99% aluminum filler metal that is available in spools (Mig wire) or Rod (Tig). ER1100 can be used to weld base material types 1100, 1060, 1070, 1080, and 3003. ER1100 provides high electrical conductivity, thermal conductivity, corrosion resistance due to ER1100 is highly resistant to chemical attack and weathering, low spatter, and high weldability. It can be strengthened by cold working. The alloy can be bright finish obtained by anodizing.
Applications:
It is suitable for welding of applications in chemistry, electronics, construction, Heat Exchangers, Food Handling Equipment
Notes on usage:
- Heavy parts and thicker plates should be preheated (150°C), prior to welding.
