Characteristics:
LKE-9016-G is a low-hydrogen covered welding electrode widely used for welding high tensile strength steel up to 620 MPa. It provides excellent tensile strength, strong weld seams, and outstanding radiographic test performance. Ideal applications include shipbuilding, machinery manufacturing, oil rigs, high-pressure pipelines, and steel grades such as ASTM A202/486 Gr90/736 Gr3, among others.
Notes on Usage:
-
Electrodes should be baked prior to use at a temperature of 80ºC. In some cases, pre-baking may be required depending on the material or its thickness.
-
Avoid using a welding current higher than the recommended range, as excessive heat may reduce impact resistance.
-
Maintain the shortest possible arc length to prevent arc extinguishing.
-
Use the backstep technique when starting the weld to prevent porosity at the starting point.
